This wall poster features 120 bird species endemic or near endemic to Southern Africa, illustrated by Kenneth Newman. The Southern African region is generally accepted as being that part of Africa lying south of the Zambezi-Okavango-Kunene Rivers (approximately 17ºS). Southern Africa, with its rich variety of bird life, is home to 103 endemic bird species (all but one are illustrated here). Also illustrated are 18 of the 72 near endemic species (whose distribution extends just beyond Southern Africa).
