Description

The Essential Geography of the United States of America

This national award-winning reinvention of the US wall map brings the richness and beauty of United States geography to life. It is the only US map that depicts the principal elements of our common geographic heritage. To achieve the sharpest possible image, Imus Geographics has their wall maps printed on heavy poster paper that has an ultra-smooth, non-porous finish. In addition, their laminated wall maps are heat-sealed on both sides with 1.7 mil clear vinyl.

Scale: 1:4,000,000

"The Essential Geography...has led many to hail it as a rebuttal to claims that the paper map is on its way out. " —Jamie Stevenson, HERE 360, London, England

"Like a beautifully illustrated manuscript, the map engages both sides of the human brain." —Barry Lopez, writer

From The Artist
Large and incomprehensibly elegant, the Earth's surface is functional art that we live within and help to sculpt, making it worth our notice and understanding. But often, this functional art we live within and help to sculpt, goes unnoticed and is poorly understood.

I made the Essential Geography of the United States of America with the idea that it would allow more Americans to take note of and understand the amazing work that land, water, air and all living things have done in the part of the world we call "home.

Thank you,
Dave Imus, Cartographer
