About LEGO:
LEGO is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt," which means "play well." LEGO is a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark, which is still owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family, who founded it in 1932. The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder Ole. LEGO has come a long way over the past 85 years – from a small carpenter’s workshop to become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of toys. LEGO has been named Toy of the Century, twice!

The LEGO brick in its present form was launched in 1958. The interlocking design, with its recognizable tubes, makes it unique and offers unlimited building possibilities. In the LEGO philosophy, play is a key element in children’s growth and development because it stimulates the imagination and the emergence of ideas and creative expression. All LEGO products are based on this underlying philosophy of learning and development through play.

True to its motto, ‘Only the best is good enough,’ the LEGO® Group has been emphasizing the importance of high quality since 1932, when the founder, Ole Kirk Kristiansen, began making wooden toys. High quality and safe products have remained the focal point for LEGO throughout the years – and it still is. LEGO products are tested rigorously to live up to the strictest safety and quality standards. This approach has made children and adults return to LEGO products time and again.

LEGO's mission is to “inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow” by helping children think creatively, reason systematically and release their potential to shape their own future. We at Blooming Minds believe no childhood experience is complete without LEGO®.
